Mechanical anti-mosquito solution

the extra tight woven component used for the product acts as a mechanical barrier that limits mosquito bites when it is not pulled tight.
We have chosen a mechanical solution v. permethrin (biocide product) soaking to limit our environmental impact.
Its toxicity for humans has not yet been classified, but it is very toxic for many animals, (cats, batrachia or insects)

How did we test efficiency in preventing mosquito bites?

How did we test efficiency in preventing mosquito bites?We tested the efficiency of this hat in extreme conditions in a specialised laboratory.
60 female mosquitoes of 3 different species (Aedes, Culex and Anopheles) were placed in a sealed room (yes! only female mosquitoes bite).
10 testers spent 60 minutes in it in total.
Score: the component stops 95% of mosquito bites.

Mosquito Net

The World Heath Organisation recommends at least 25 holes per cm² to stop mosquitoes effectively.
With 40 holes per sqcm, the mosquito net used on this hat won’t let any through.
This net is untreated.

How to fold my hat?

Just make an “eight” with the edge of your hat and then fold it in half.
And… there you go! Place it in its bag.
This tip will enable you to carry your hat in your rucksack or suitcase without damaging it.

Mosquito risk area

If you are visiting an area with a high level of mosquitoes, we recommend you also use anti-mosquito spray, essential oil-based with lemon eucalyptus or even icaridin.
Indeed, in some countries mosquitoes can be carriers of serious diseases such as chikungunya, dengue fever or even malaria.
